Vida en Cristo. Life in Christ.

About the Theme

Vida en Cristo / Life in Christ invites us to root our life together in Jesus—receiving grace, being renewed by the Spirit, and sent in love for the sake of our neighbors.

As we gather for the 2026 Rocky Mountain Synod Synod Assembly under the theme Vida en Cristo / Life in Christ, we’re invited to remember that life in Christ is lived first and most often in ordinary life. In baptism, God names us beloved and sends us back into the world with a simple, lifelong rhythm: to live among God’s faithful people, hear the Word and share the Supper, proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed, serve all people, and strive for justice and peace—not as extra tasks, but as a way of being shaped by grace.

And because baptism calls the whole church, not just a few, but every one of us are called to proclaim Christ—at home, at work, in our communities, and in the relationships entrusted to us. God also gifts each of us by the Spirit for this shared life—different gifts, one body—so that together we can serve with joy and purpose for the sake of our neighbors and the world God loves.

So whether our days are filled with preaching and teaching, retirement and volunteering, caregiving and grandparenting, leading meetings or making meals, managing health appointments or checking on a neighbor, this Assembly invites us to renew our baptismal identity—and to notice where Christ is already meeting us in the people and places right in front of us.

Scripture Readings guiding our time together include:

Romans 6:3–4

"Do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Therefore we were buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life."

Galatians 2:20

"...and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God,[a] who loved me and gave himself for me."
